4-21-23   THOUGHTS

Several places in scripture speak of an "innocent wisdom". We must know enough of the world to be wise in Satan’s devices, but we are not students of the world!  We are to be established in the good news of Jesus Christ!    The word ESTABLISH in verse 25, implies a settling, a maturity, a strong root system, stability, a growing-aging wisdom.  Acts 20:32   "And now I commend you to God and to the word of His grace, which is able to build [you] up and to give [you] the inheritance among all those who are sanctified.

Rom 16:16-20    Greet one another with a holy kiss. All the churches of Christ greet you. 17   Now I urge you, brethren, keep your eye on those who cause dissensions and hindrances contrary to the teaching which you learned, and turn away from them. 18  For such men are slaves, not of our Lord Christ but of their own appetites; and by their smooth and flattering speech they deceive the hearts of the unsuspecting. 19  For the report of your obedience has reached to all; therefore I am rejoicing over you, but I want you to be wise in what is good and innocent in what is evil. 20  The God of peace will soon crush Satan under your feet. The grace of our Lord Jesus be with you.
Rom 16:24-27   [[The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen.]]  25  Now to Him who is able to establish you according to my gospel and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery which has been kept secret for long ages past,  26  but now is manifested, and by the Scriptures of the prophets, according to the commandment of the eternal God, has been made known to all the nations, leading to obedience of faith;  27  to the only wise God, through Jesus Christ, be the glory forever. Amen.
Matt 10:16  "Behold, I send you out as sheep in the midst of wolves; so be shrewd as serpents and innocent as doves.”
1Cor 14:20   Brethren, do not be children in your thinking; yet in evil be infants, but in your thinking be mature.
Eph 5:9-12    (for
the fruit of the Light consists in all goodness and righteousness and truth), 10  trying to learn what is pleasing to the Lord.  11  Do not participate in the unfruitful deeds of darkness, but instead even expose them; 12  for it is disgraceful even to speak of the things which are done by them in secret.
Josh 23:8  "But you are to cling to the LORD your God, as you have done to this day.”
Rom 12:9    [Let] love [be] without hypocrisy. Abhor what is evil; cling to what is good.

My Prayer:
Father God, we exalt your great name.  Establish us in Your truth, and keep us from the evil one.  May we cling to You, O God, seeking to abide in Your presence increasingly.  Give us an innocent wisdom to know the true from the false, every time it comes our way.  May we glorify Your name as You let us live.  We pray in Jesus,       Amen.
